CAIRO – 7 August 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi saw off King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain at El Alamein International Airport this afternoon following the conclusion of the Bahraini monarch’s official visit to Egypt.
President El-Sisi met with King Hamad on Thursday at the Presidential Palace in New Alamein City. The summit included high-level talks held over a working lunch with senior delegation officials from both nations.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, Official Spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that President El-Sisi welcomed King Hamad, praising the continuous advancement of Egyptian-Bahraini relations. The President highlighted the necessity of deepening economic, trade, and investment ties while intensifying strategic consultation to preserve regional stability and align on key geopolitical issues.
King Hamad expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, commending the recent progress in bilateral relations. He affirmed Manama’s eagerness to broaden horizons for cooperation, reflecting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations at both the official and popular levels.
During the discussions, President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s steadfast support for Bahrain’s security and stability, condemning any external threats or attacks against Bahraini territory and stressing that Bahrain’s security remains an integral component of Egyptian national security. In response, King Hamad expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance and emphasized the importance of joint Arab coordination to de-escalate regional tensions and resolve disputes through peaceful dialogue.
Addressing regional stability, both leaders urged all parties to adhere strictly to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. They called for the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and a clear framework for reconstruction, reaffirming that a lasting peace can only be achieved through a two-state solution establishing an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Closing the summit, King Hamad wished Egypt continued progress and prosperity, affirming Bahrain’s full solidarity with Cairo’s efforts to safeguard its national security.
